NU Online News Service, Nov. 4, 2003, 4:25 p.m. EST – The securities unit at Wachovia Corp., Charlotte, N.C., has hired Jim Kelligrew to be a managing director and head of the investment-grade unit within its fixed-income division.

Kelligrew will be responsible for investment-grade sales, trading, syndicate and debt capital markets activities.

Wachovia says it is bringing Kelligrew aboard to help it double the number of times that it serves as lead manager for high-grade bond offerings.

Kelligrew previously was head of global high-grade fixed income at a securities unit of Bank of America Corp., Charlotte. He also has worked in fixed-income divisions at investment banks in New York and London.

Kelligrew has a bachelor’s degree in economics and sociology from the University of Michigan.
