Chandler To Lead New Benefits Firm

NU Online News Service, July 1, 2003, 11:15 a.m. EDT – J. Harold Chandler, the former chairman of UnumProvident Corp., Chattanooga, Tenn., has joined with two other executives to form Benefit Partners of America L.L.C., Nashville, Tenn., a company that will design benefit plans and handle enrollment and support services.

Benefit Partners will sell executive benefits and employer-paid benefits as well as employee-paid benefits, the company says.

Chandler will be chairman and chief executive of the new company.

The other executives are K. Bradford Wier, who will be the chief marketing officer, and Gregory Voges, who will be the president.

Wier previously was leader of the voluntary workplace benefits national practice at UnumProvident.

Voges is the owner of Turner P. Williams & Associates L.L.C., Nashville, a benefit enrollment firm.
