Ameritas Names President And Accounting Chief

NU Online News Service, March 27, 2003, 3:53 p.m. EST – Ameritas Life Insurance Corp., Lincoln, Neb., says it will be promoting JoAnn Martin to president and chief operating officer and Robert Barth to senior vice president, controller and chief accounting officer.

Martin has been the company’s chief financial officer since October 2001. She joined the company in 1984 as an internal audit manager.

Martin has a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Nebraska and a master’s degree from Colorado State University. She holds the Certified Public Accountant professional designation.

Barth has been a vice president at Ameritas and its controller since February 1999. He joined the company in 1984 as a senior group accountant.

Barth has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska. He holds the CPA professional designation.

The announcements about Martin and Barth follow on the heels of an announcement that David Moore will be succeeding Kenneth Louis as chairman and chief executive officer of Ameritas March 31.

Moore has been the company’s president and chief operating officer.

Ameritas is a unit of The Ameritas Acacia Companies. Larry Arth continues to be the chairman of The Ameritas Acacia Companies.
