Oxford Reports Higher 4th Quarter Net Income

NU Online News Service, Feb. 4, 10:34 a.m. – Oxford Health Plans Inc., Norwalk, Conn., is reporting $74 million in net income for the fourth quarter of 2002 on $1.3 billion in revenue, compared with $94 million in net income on $1.1 billion in revenue for the fourth quarter of 2001.

The managed care company ended 2002 providing or administering major medical coverage for 1.6 million people, up from 1.5 million people a year earlier.

Premium revenue averaged $853 per commercial customer, up 8% from the average for the fourth quarter of 2001.
