Oct. 30, 2002 — Former Fidelity Investments portfolio manager William Rubin has been named co-manager of the Dreyfus Financial Services Fund.

Rubin joined Steven Gavios on the 10-month-old fund, replacing Stephanie Maltz, who left Dreyfus Corp.

Rubin had analyzed banks and financial stocks for Dreyfus since coming to the company in August. Previously, he had covered the financial sector for two hedge funds.

From 1993 to 1999, Rubin was an analyst with Fidelity and also served as a co-manager of Fidelity Select Financial Services (FIDSX), Fidelity Select Home Finance (FSVLX), and Fidelity Select Defense & Aerospace (FSDAX).

A Dreyfus spokeswoman said she did not know Maltz’ future plans.
