Delaware Investments Hires 529 Plan Expert

NU Online News Service, Sept. 13, 12:05 p.m. – Delaware Investments, Philadelphia, has hired Thomas McConnell to be senior vice president of its 529 college savings plan group.

Previously, McConnell was director of 529 product management at Alliance Capital Management L.P., New York. While at Alliance, McConnell helped develop and launch Rhode Island’s CollegeBoundfund 529 savings program.

McConnell also set up the 529 college savings program at Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association-College Retirement Equities Fund.

McConnell has a bachelor’s degree in finance and international management from Georgetown University, Washington. He holds the Chartered Financial Consultant professional designation.
