NU Online News Service, June 19, 6:25 p.m. – The Aid Association for Lutherans/Lutheran Brotherhood, Appleton, Wis., says 79% of the members who voted approved the idea of renaming the fraternal benefit society Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.

Aid Association and Lutheran Brotherhood merged Jan. 1. The combined society has 3 million members.

Member voting on the new name ended May 7, and Wisconsin insurance regulators approved it May 21. Since May 21, more than half of the states have approved the change, the society says.
