Cleveland Bank Acquires Insurance Wholesaler

NU Online News Service, April 10, 11:24 a.m. – Celaris Group Inc., Bowling Green, Ohio, an insurance agency owned by Sky Financial Group Inc., has strengthened its presence in northeastern Ohio by buying Value Added Benefits Ltd., Cleveland, a wholesale insurance business.

The sellers were individuals associated with two employee benefits brokerage firms, Herbruck, Alder & Company, Cleveland, and Corporate Plans Inc., Solon, Ohio, Celaris says.

The value of the deal was not disclosed.

Sky Financial, a Bowling Green, Ohio-based bank holding company with $9.2 billion in assets, acquired Celaris in January.
