NU Online News Service, Oct. 17, 12:35 p.m. – Tiburon Strategic Advisors, Tiburon, Calif., is setting up a free Web site that independent financial representatives can use to compare their performance with the performance of other reps.

Tiburon, which is working with SunAmerica Financial Network, Los Angeles, to set up the site, has already stocked it with results from an informal survey of 250 reps.
Many of the reps sell variable annuities and other insurance-based products as well as stocks, mutual funds and other products and services.
The results now on the site show that the participating reps make heaviest use of variable annuities from Nationwide Financial Corp., Columbus, Ohio: 63% of the reps reporting selling Nationwide variable annuities.
SunAmerica does business with 53% of the participating reps; American Skandia Life Assurance Corp., Shelton, Conn., with 52%; Pacific Life Insurance Company, Newport Beach, Calif., with 35%; and Hartford Life Insurance Company, Simsbury, Conn., 34%.
