Bill Crager, founder of Field.

Bill Crager, co-founder and former CEO of Envestnet, on Wednesday announced the launch of his new wealth management technology company, Field.

The platform, which uses artificial intelligence integration, is designed to build a unifying layer underneath the disparate systems advisors use. Field then translates data into a shared language and turns it into firm-level intelligence, according to a statement.

Two acquisitions form the foundation of Field: BridgeFT, acquired in December 2025, is a wealthtech API platform already serving developers and institutions with multi-custodian data connectivity, normalization and delivery. Acquired in May 2025, Precept's integration technology — including the company's AI integration layer — connects data across custodians, CRMs, planning tools and alternative investment platforms.

Both acquisitions were made through private markets infrastructure company iAltA Holdings, founded by Scott Ganeles and Laurence Tosi — co-founders of Ipreo, the capital markets data infrastructure firm — together with Bill Sherman. Tosi also founded iLEVEL, the private capital reporting platform.

iAltA Holdings, which is backed by the private equity firm WestCap, was formally launched in May 2025. Crager joined iAltA Holdings as a founding member in September 2025 after stepping down from his position at Envestnet in March 2024.

Crager told ThinkAdvisor he began the business plan for Field in April 2024, a month after leaving Envestnet. Field was incorporated in October 2025. After the BridgeFT and Precept acquisitions, he said they have been testing the platform with clients.

"With Precept, we can retrieve, at scale, data from any environment," he said. "It is in the onboarding process that the firm needs to identify all the data they want in their cloud. They can always add other data components as they grow, acquire and switch systems."

With Field, Crager said the data always remains with the advisory firm.

"They own it and, with Field, have now liberated it," he said.
