One way to read people’s minds: Type a few characters into Google and see how Google offers to complete what you’re typing.

We studied what people are thinking about life insurance by opening a private browser window and simply typing “is life insurance,” without the quotation marks, into Google.

We did the same thing with Bing.

Google and Bing seem to be getting similar questions, because most of their autocomplete suggestions were the same.
