While the stock market has rallied this year, recently hitting bull market territory, uncertainty surrounding the economy, monetary policy and corporate earnings could mean more weakness, volatility or both in the coming months, according to Charles Schwab strategists.
Strategists from the investment firm discussed their views about this year’s second half on a webcast this week, touching on issues Schwab discussed in its mid-2023 outlook posted two weeks ago. That report suggested the U.S. stock market isn’t out of the woods yet.
Schwab’s experts dug into market activity, economic indicators and corporate fundamentals, among other areas, in offering their insights on how the next six months may go for the financial markets and the economy.
