The world’s richest women reside on five continents and range in age from 26 to 98, according to Forbes’ Real-Time Billionaires List.
The wealth-tracking platform ranks the net worth of individuals confirmed by Forbes to be billionaires, based on the value of their public holdings, which is updated every five minutes when the respective stock markets are open.
Individuals whose fortunes are significantly tied to private companies will have their net worth updated once a day.
Those who own a stake in a private company that accounts for 20% or more of his or her net worth, the value of the company will be adjusted according to an industry- or region-specific market index provided by Forbes’ partners at FactSet Research Systems, when available.
