World’s 15 Safest Cities to Visit in 2023

Safety will be a top-of-mind consideration for most travelers planning their 2023 vacations.

Berkshire Hathaway Travel Protection, a travel insurance provider, has published its annual safest destinations report, including the 15 safest cities in the world.

Researchers culled Expedia, American Express and other sources for a list of the most popular international and domestic cities for travelers, coming up with 29 cities. In a September poll, they asked travelers who had been to those cities to rank them on a variety of safety measures, using their first-hand knowledge as a benchmark.

They also added the most recent Safe Cities Index from The Economist, city ratings from GeoSure Global and the current crime index from Numbeo, and weighed the numbers to arrive at a final result.
