Welcome to SEC Roundup, a bimonthly video series by Paul Hastings partners and former Securities and Exchange Commission senior trial counsels Nick Morgan and Tom Zaccaro exploring current SEC topics with thought leaders and industry experts.

In this episode, Morgan and Zaccaro talk with Suzan Rose, senior advisor on Government & Regulatory Affairs for The Alternative Investment Management Association in Washington, about commenting on SEC rule proposals.

The agency currently has 26 rules in the final rule stage, with 28 more rules potentially coming down the pike, Morgan explained.

Rose notes that raising questions in comment letters to the agency “does not earn you a target on your back with the SEC,” and explains why commenters should “choose their words carefully.”

See the video above for the discussion with Rose.
