What You Need to Know

  • As part of a new, three-year pact, Carson Coaching has become FPA's official coaching partner.
  • The partnership includes a wide variety of Carson Coaching services.
  • More than 12,000 advisors have used Carson Coaching to date, according to parent Carson Group.

As part of a new strategic partnership, the Financial Planning Association said recently that it made Carson Coaching its “official coaching partner.”

The new, three-year partnership is “focused on supporting the business and leadership needs of FPA members and provides financial professionals with access to a wide range of services provided by Carson Coaching,” FPA and Carson Coaching parent Carson Group said in a joint announcement.

More than 12,000 advisors have used Carson’s coaching program. Pointing to a recent survey, FPA and Carson Group said 98.72% of current Carson Coaching members indicated they were more successful due to the coaching relationship.

“We’ve seen the tremendous impact coaching can have in supporting financial planners as they move through the profession; we look forward to our partnership with FPA and share in their commitment to move the industry forward,” Jamie Hopkins, Carson Group managing partner of Wealth Solutions, said in a statement. Carson Coaching has been serving advisors for nearly 30 years, he noted.

Carson Coaching has supported FPA and its members prior to the new pact, Patrick D. Mahoney, FPA CEO, pointed out. “Carson is a recognized name in the financial services industry, and their coaching programs have helped thousands of professionals and business owners achieve a higher level of success,” he said in the announcement.

“FPA is focused on working with companies like Carson Coaching that can further position FPA as the partner in planning to CFP professionals of all business models and backgrounds, according to Mahoney. “This value-add partnership enhances the opportunities our members have to receive the important practice support they need.”

As part of the new partnership, FPA members will have access to: Carson Coaching Online, including complimentary access to Carson Coaching’s online platform offering on-demand coaching with 30 select courses; FPA Group Coaching; one-on-one Executive Business Coaching; and the Emerging Advisor Growth Accelerator Program.

FPA members will also have access to regional and national event discounts, Carson coaches will regularly share their expertise via video content and articles to be featured in the Journal of Financial Planning and other FPA properties, and FPA’s network of 80 local chapters can request speakers from Carson’s slate of coaches and subject matter experts at discounted speaking fees.

FPA members who want to use the services included in the partnership can do so by visiting the Carson Coaching program page on FPA’s website.

The FPA members-only offerings can be accessed easily using its single sign-on functionality.
