Tom Brady is calling it a career.

The 44-year-old announced his retirement in an Instagram post Tuesday, saying if a 100% competitive commitment isn’t there, success won’t follow.

“This is difficult for me to write, but here it goes: I am not going to make that competitive commitment anymore. I have loved my NFL career, and now it is time to focus my time and energy on other things that require my attention,” Brady said.

Over the weekend ESPN reported Brady was retiring, though speculation continued that the star quarterback might still come back.

Brady finished his career with seven Super Bowl championships, three MVPs and five Super Bowl MVPs.
