Global Atlantic Names Co-President: Personnel Moves

Global Atlantic Financial Group has picked Manu Sareen to serve as the company’s co-president, alongside Rob Arena.

Sareen has been the company’s president for institutional markets, and he will continue to oversee the institutional markets business, the company says.

Sareen started out as an analyst at Wasserstein Perella. He later was a managing director at Goldman Sachs. While there, he advised banks and life insurers. He moved from Goldman Sachs to Global Atlantic when Global Atlantic came to life.

He has a bachelor’s degree from Cornell and a master’s degree in management from MIT.

ACLI

The American Council of Life Insurers has hired Jill Rickard to be a regional vice president for state relations.

She previously was director of policy at the Vermont Department of Financial Regulation.

Earlier in her career, she was an associate at two law firms. She also has been the owner of Peanut & Mouse, a children’s shop in Waitsfield, Vt.

She has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and a law degree from Columbia.

She’s a member of the board of the Vermont Housing Finance Agency.

OneAmerica

OneAmerica has four new vice presidents.

The Indianapolis-based company has hired David Junker to be individual life and financial services vice president. He previously was vice president of the insurance sales consulting group at Ameriprise.

OneAmerica also has promoted:

Chris Coudret to vice president for career and independent brokerage, from vice president for workplace solutions and retirement services.

Kristin Dorm to vice president for agency growth and development, from from national director of recruiting and agent development.

Jeff Levin to vice president for care solutions distribution, from a divisional vice president at the care solutions business.

CNO

CNO Financial Group has hired Richard Shaffer to be senior vice president for small market sales and worksite insurance operations.

He previously was a senior vice president at Unum’s Colonial Life unit.

He also has been the owner of a wine importer.

Shaffer has a bachelor’s degree from George Mason University and a master’s degree from East Carolina University.

Delta Dental of Tennessee

Delta Dental of Tennessee has promoted Jeff Ballard to executive vice president.

Ballard will continue to be the Nashville, Tennessee-based company’s chief financial officer.

He earlier served as the CFO at Magazines.com and for Corrections Corporation of America.

He has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Middle Tennessee State University. He holds the Certified Public Accountant professional designation.

Standard

Standard Insurance Company — a Portland, Oregon-based arm of Meiji Yasuda — says Chris Beaulieu will be succeeding Scott Hibbs as its chief investment officer.

Hibbs is retiring.

Beaulieu has been vice president of individual annuities and investments.

The Standard is also promoting Al Ijaz to vice president of the asset management group, from vice president of retirement plans.

AmeriLife

AmeriLife Group has hired Jim Palmer to be president for the direct-to-consumer Medicare plan sales platform.

Palmer previously was a senior vice president at Tranzact.

He earlier led the life insurance business unit at Carroll Enterprises.

He has a bachelor’s degree in finance from Ohio University.

Penn Mutual

The Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company has hired Maggie Reim to be vice president, total rewards.

She will help the Horsham, Pennsylvania-based company decide how much to pay people and what kinds of benefits to offer.

She previously was director of total rewards at Edward Jones.

She has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri-St. Louis and a master’s degree in business from the University of Missouri at Columbia. She holds the Certified Compensation Professional, Certified Benefits Professional and Professional in Human Resources professional designations.

GoHealth

GoHealth has hired Vance Johnston to be chief financial officer.

Johnston previously the CFO at IAA, an auto services company.

He has a bachelor’s degree from the University of San Diego and a master’s degree in business from the University of Chicago.
