MetLife has hired Michael Roberts away from The Vanguard Group to be an executive vice president and chief marketing officer.
Roberts will succeed Esther Lee, who is retiring in June.
Roberts previously was the chief marketing officer at Vanguard’s retail investor group. He has also worked for Bank of America’s merchant services business and in positions at Alix Partners, Citigroup and EY.
He has a bachelor’s degree in music from Dartmouth College and a master’s degree in voice from Boston University.
In related news, MetLife has named Dan Dunkers a senior vice president and chief information officer at its Versant Health unit.
MetLife acquired the managed vision care company, based near Baltimore, in September 2020.
Dunkers has been vice president of information technology at Johns Hopkins Healthcare.
He has also worked for Kaiser Permanente, CareFirst and Nationwide.
He has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Case Western Reserve University and a master’s degree in business from Johns Hopkins.
