Ethos Hires Three Zillow Veterans

Ethos Technologies, an online life insurance seller, has hired three Zillow veterans to help it connect with life insurance agents by expanding its agent partnerships unit. Zillow is an online real estate marketplace company founded in 2006 by former Microsoft executives.

San Francisco-based Ethos says it has named Rob Broesler Jr.to be a vice president and general manager of the partnerships team. It also named Nick Fitzgerald to be vice president of sales and Keri McGhee to be head of partnership marketing.

Broesler spent eight years at Zillow. When he left, he was head of business operations for Zillow’s Mortgage Marketplace, Analytics for Marketplace and Zillow Home Loans programs.

He has a bachelor’s degree in applied physics from Columbia University and a doctorate in materials science from the University of California at Berkeley.

Fitzgerald was vice president of sales at Zillow, and McGhee was the head of business-to-business partner teams at Zillow.

Breeze

Modern Insurance Agency, an online seller of disability insurance and other products that operates as Breeze, has hired Andrew Hamill to be head of distribution.

Hamill will market the Breeze online sales system to agents, brokerage general agencies and independent marketing organizations, Breeze says.

Hamill previously was head of brokerage distribution and strategy at Legal & General America. Earlier in his career, Hamill worked for Genworth Financial and Prudential Financial.

He has a bachelor’s degree from Penn State University and holds the Chartered Life Underwriter and Chartered Financial Consultant professional designations. He serves on the board of the NAILBA Charitable Foundation, has held various board positions with other industry and charitable organizations.

Fabric

Fabric Technologies has hired Brian Sticker to be its chief insurance officer.

Fabric sells life insurance, 529 college savings accounts , and other products and services to parents through the web. Stickler will be responsible for developing insurance products, pricing the products, and overseeing policy administration and compliance.

Sticker previously was senior vice president of life and retirement products at Allstate. He also has worked for The Baltimore Life Insurance Company.

He has a bachelor’s degree from Towson University.

Policygenius

Policygenius, a web-based life insurance agency, has hired Matthew Mak to be head of revenue operations.

Mak previously was head of sales and fulfillment insights at Better, a company that helps home buyers shop for mortgages, title insurance and other products and services.

Mak has bachelor’s degrees in economics and industrial engineering from Columbia University.

OneAmerica

OneAmerica has promoted Kelley Gay to chief marketing officer. Gay has been the company’s vice president for enterprise market and communications.

Earlier in her career, she worked for MassMutual and Phoenix Home Life.

She has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Connecticut.

Finseca

Finseca, a group for life insurance agents and financial advisors, has hired Alex Kim to be vice president of public policy. Kim was with the advanced markets team at Equitable.

He has also worked for NFP National Madison, New England Financial and Prudential Financial.

He has a bachelor’s degree from New York University and a law degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law.

American Equity

American Equity Investment Life Holding Company has hired Axel André to be its chief financial officer.

André previously was the CFO at Jackson National. Earlier, he spent seven years at Goldman Sachs and at American International Group.

He has a master’s degree from Imperial College in London and a doctorate in physics from Harvard.
