RIA Sanctuary Wealth recently added a $500 million all-female team from Morgan Stanley, Bowersock Capital Partners, which is based in Lawrence, Kansas. The six-member team is led by Emily Bowersock Hill, Ph.D./CFP, and Kaylin Dillon, CFP.

The addition of the Bowersock group gives Sanctuary Wealth its first foothold in Kansas. The Indianapolis-based RIA’s network covers 14 states, 36 partner firms and has close to $10 billion in assets under advisement.

“Every year we see more and more of the most successful advisor teams being led by women. It’s a trend that is reshaping our industry. and Bowersock Capital Partners is an outstanding example of that,” according to Sanctuary Wealth CEO Jim Dickson.

“It has been our mission from day one to liberate advisors from the constraints imposed by the wirehouse environment, and Bowersock is just the latest high-profile team to choose our partnered independence platform so they can make better choices for their clients and their future,” Dickson explained.

Hill, who earned a Ph.D. and then worked in academia, spent nearly 18 years with Morgan Stanley, where she was an executive director, senior portfolio manager and family wealth director.

Dillion joined Morgan Stanley in 2012, where she was a portfolio manager and financial advisor, after earning a masters degree.

“The profession has evolved considerably since I joined [the business] in 2002,” said Hill in a statement. “We spent a lot of time investigating different business models and possible alliances … [and] with Sanctuary, we feel we have the freedom to give our clients truly valuable advice.”

Dillon added, “Another consideration is how much financial technology has evolved in the last few years. As a smaller firm, backed by a partner with extensive resources, we are able to be nimbler and adopt new tools and technology that will benefit our clients as they become available.”

Other members of the Bowersock team are Amy Clark, Kristine Flynn, Cather Prestoy and Kathy Olds.
