As of Aug. 17, one YouTube video posted in 2018, Nicky Jam's X, had already attracted 1.2 billion views. The 10 most-watched YouTube life insurance videos posted within the past year have attracted a combined total of just 64 million views. But life insurers, financial advisory firms, financial services shopping sites are out there fighting the good fight, doing what they can to make consumers aware of the importance of insuring themselves against the risk of premature death, and of the value of using life insurance in saving and income planning arrangements. (Related: 3 Top New Life and Annuity Ad Campaigns) For this year's Life Insurance Awareness Month campaign, we created a list of the top 10-most watched videos, posted within the past year, that came up when we searched YouTube for the term "life insurance." One thing that's striking about the list is that only one of the 10 most-watched videos, from Gerber Life, came from an ordinary U.S. life insurer that sells coverage through agents and brokers. Seven of the top 10 life insurance videos came organizations based outside the United States. Six of the videos — including the second, third and fourth most popular — were aimed at viewers in India. The most-watched YouTube life insurance video, which has 16 million views, was posted by a U.S. life insurers that sells life insurance through U.S. financial institutions.
