Janney Nabs $220M Merrill Advisor: Recruiting Roundup

Janney Montgomery Scott said it has hired Andrew F. Aubrey, first vice president of wealth management, to join its West Hartford, Connecticut, branch. Aubrey previously worked for Merrill Lynch, Bank of America Investment Services, TD Waterhouse and other firms

“We’re thrilled that Andrew has found that Janney will provide him with the best opportunity to help his clients with their long-term wealth management goals,” said George Keith, complex manager, in a statement. 

Aubrey, a 20-year industry veteran and CFP, works with about $220 million in client assets.

Meanwhile, wealth-management firm Wymer Brownlee says it has hired Shawn Bean as a tax advisor, Deanna Conway as a tax coordinator and Trey Whitley as financial strategist to work in its Oklahoma City office. 

“These enhancements to our bench of client service professionals reflect Wymer Brownlee’s commitment to tax-savvy financial planning for high net worth clients, as well as our ongoing leadership in this space,” said Kyle Brownlee, Wymer Brownlee CEO and senior wealth advisor, in a statement.

Wymer Brownlee, affiliated with H.D. Vest, has nearly $600 million in total client assets.

Carson News

Eric Wishan, co-founder of Tribune Wealth Management, an independent investment and wealth management firm in Portland, Oregon, announced he is now part of Carson Wealth Management Group.

“Through Carson Group services I’ve already gained invaluable insights that have bolstered my offering to clients, and I’m excited to now expand my relationship with the Carson organization so I can continue to deliver on my promise of providing exemplary service,” Wishan said in a statement.

“We look forward to providing him with the technology and infrastructure he needs to make the complex simple for his clients, enabling him to focus on growth, leadership and deepening relationships with their clients,” said Ron Carson, CEO and founder of Carson Wealth Management Group, in a statement.

More Developments

In Portland, Maine, private wealth firm R. M. Davis says that it has two new equity owners: industry veterans Scot E. Draeger, director of wealth management and general counsel, and Dean E. Walker, vice president of trading and data management.

Draeger and Walker, which have about $4 billion in client assets, say this development happens “at a time of significant growth for R. M. Davis, and [the] proven leadership [of the two new owners] offers greater breadth of expertise and experience for clients and the future of the firm.”
