The Financial Planning Association and SEI have embarked on a strategic relationship to support financial planners in growing their businesses and better serving the needs of their clients, the organizations announced Wednesday.

The partnership will give certified financial planner professionals within FPA’s 23,000-member community access to solution-based content, according to the announcement.

“SEI is dedicated to providing independent financial advisors with an innovative, unique and comprehensive platform of services that combine asset management, technology and operations and practice management services to help them better serve their clients and ultimately, achieve long-term success,” Frank Paré, FPA’s 2018 president, said in a statement.

“FPA’s partnership with SEI is paramount in bringing relevant and solution-based services to help financial planners get ahead in a rapidly changing environment.”

As of Sept. 30, the SEI Advisor Network was working with 7,300 independent financial advisors and had $62 billion in advisors’ assets under management.

According to the announcement, SEI subject matter experts will be instrumental in expanding the educational offerings provided to FPA members at in-person conferences, through the FPA Professional Development Learning Center and FPA’s online communities.

The two organizations said that in coming months, they would further explore and plan for potential collaboration opportunities aimed at CFP professionals.

“We share similar core values as the FPA and we are excited to join together to further focus on helping financial advisors achieve their professional goals and lasting business success,” Kevin Crowe, head of product development for SEI’s Advisor Network, said in a statement.

“FPA has demonstrated dedication to its members by fostering the value of financial planning while advancing the practice and the profession. We are proud to be associated with FPA and its members.”

FPA’s Strategic Partner program seeks to engage in more meaningful, collaborative partnerships where partners, such as SEI, can support FPA members and the financial planning community, specifically certified financial planners.
