Cetera Adds $700M Financial Institutions Group: Recruiting Roundup

Cetera Financial Institutions, part of the Cetera Financial Group of broker-dealers, says it has struck a deal with Investors Bank, which will move its $700 million retail wealth-management program onto its platform.

Investors Bank, a unit of Investors Bancorp, Inc., is based in Short Hills, New Jersey, and serves clients in the Garden State and New York. Its operations include 22 financial professionals and over 65 licensed bankers.

“We’re excited to welcome Investors Bank to our platform, and to support the next stage of growth for its retail wealth management business,” said LeAnn Rummel, president of Cetera Financial Institutions, in a statement. “We’re privileged to support Investors Bank and hundreds of other growth-oriented bank and credit union programs across the country.”

According to Richard Koll, senior vice president of Wealth Management & Insurance for Investors Financial, “From the onset of our search for a new broker-dealer, we were extremely impressed with Cetera Financial Institutions because of its deep understanding of the important role financial institutions play in delivering wealth management services to its clients.”

Alex. Brown, a unit of Raymond James, said it recently recruited veteran advisor Collin Rigler and associate Eric Montijo in Los Angeles, from RBC Wealth Management, where Rigler previously managed about $180 million in client assets.

“Alex. Brown has a proud history in California, strengthened by the firm’s influence during many dot-com era IPOs, including Microsoft, Starbucks, Sun Microsystems and Oracle,” according to John Davis, Coastal regional director for Alex. Brown.

Rigler has nearly three decades of experience in the business, including with Alex. Brown/Deutsche Bank, where he was a managing director and client advisor from 1994 to 2002. He was most recently with RBC for 13 years, during which time he served as an advisor and manager in Beverly Hills and Manhattan Beach.

Brown’s history and commitment to clients, I originally joined during the days of the firm’s involvement in several startups and IPOs,” said Rigler, in a statement. “I am proud to rejoin Alex. Brown, after the reinvigoration of the brand and now backed by the robust support and commitment of Raymond James.”

Prior to joining Alex. Brown, Montijo was an advisor at RBC. An associate at Alex. Brown, he is responsible for equity research, market analysis, equity syndicate and presentations tied to the team’s portfolios. He also works with the corporate and executive aspects of the business that cater to C-level executives.
