Andrew "Buddy" Donohue, the former head of the Securities and Exchange Commission's Investment Management Division, has joined Shearman & Sterling as counsel in the Investment Funds practice in New York.
Donohue joins the firm after most recently serving as chief of staff to former SEC Chairwoman Mary Jo White.

"Our clients will benefit from his comprehensive, in-depth and behind-the-curtain understanding of the investment management industry."
In his new role, Donohue advises investment fund sponsors, distributors and investors on transactional and regulatory matters.
