Raymond James says it has recruited a team from Morgan Stanley to its independent channel. Ashley Banks, CDFA, CFP, and Donna Carroll, CDFA, are now with Raymond in Gainesville, Florida.

The duo operates as Banks Carroll Group, previously managed $112 million in client assets and specializes in working with female clients with a focus on divorce financial strategies.

“Ashley and Donna are passionate and steadfast in helping their clients during major life changes, particularly those going through divorces, and helping them achieve financial independence,” said Jodi Perry, Southeast regional director for Raymond James Financial Strategies, in a press release.

Banks and Carroll began their careers at Merrill Lynch and have worked together since 1995.

“They are an exceptional advisor team, and we are pleased they chose to partner with Raymond James as they continue to grow their business and their niche client base,” Perry explained.

Before moving to Raymond James, Banks was the manager of Morgan Stanley’s branch in Gainesville; both she and Carrol have over 25 years of industry experience.

“We made the move to Raymond James for several reasons, particularly their unique business culture, their longtime focus on financial planning and the type of support they offer to advisors,” said Banks, in a press release.

“Another draw to Raymond James was the firm’s Network for Women Advisors,” she explained. “… Raymond James truly values its female advisors, and that it dedicates resources and support toward helping them learn, grow, network and succeed.”

Earlier this week, Raymond James said it added a duo from Merrill Lynch with about $350 million n client assets and more than $2 million in yearly fees and commissions, as well as a group formerly with Wells Fargo Advisors that has some $138 million in client assets and over $1 million in annual production.

The team joining Raymond James’ employee channel from Merrill includes Brian Pick, CFP, and Terri Fought, as well as three other associates. They are opening the firm’s new Williamsport, Pennsylvania, office led by Mid-American Complex Director Bill Theis.

Raymond James also says Sam Kim and his associate Scott Mann, a CRPC and chartered retirement plan specialist, are now part of the Ashburn, Virginia, office of Raymond James & Associates. They moved to RJA from Wells Fargo.
