New benefits deals: PlanSource, Genex and NFP

PlanSource Inc., a company that develops benefit plan shopping and enrollment systems, has acquired a benefit plan administrator.

PlanSource, which is based in Orlando, Florida, bought Next Generation Enrollment Inc. of Ada, Michigan.

Next Generation Enrollment has been providing plan administration services for small and midsize employers since 2004, according to its corporate history. The company helps employers with bill reconciliation, Affordable Care Act compliance, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts and health reimbursement arrangements.

Next Generation Enrollment started using the PlanSource enrollment system in 2011.

The companies are not saying how much PlanSource paid for Next Generation Enrollment.

In other benefits deal news:

      • Genex Services L.L.C., a Wayne, Pennsylvania-based disability insurance and workers’ compensation insurance care manager, has acquired Exam Coordinators Network Inc. of Boca Raton, Florida. ECN has been providing independent medical examinations and peer review services for insurers since 1999. The companies are not saying how much Genex paid for ECN. Baily Southwell & Co. of Nashville, Tennessee, helped ECN with the deal.

      • NFP Corp., a New York-based broker, made two deals that involve firms with employee benefits operations. NFP acquired Hayward Tilton & Rolapp Insurance Associates Inc. of Anaheim, California, and Serra DelVecchio L.L.C. of Shelton, Connecticut. Roger Rolapp, Joan Kay Kolbe and Stephen Moriyama will join NFP as a result of the Hayward Tilton deal. Justin DelVecchio and Frederick Serra will join NFP as a result of the deal in Connecticut.
