An insurance agency subsidiary of the American Medical Association is offering a new individual disability insurance program to AMA members.

The agency, AMA Insurance Agency Inc. of Chicago, is working with Millennium Brokerage Group Inc. of Brentwood, Tennessee, to run the program.

The AMA program will use a disability insurance policy from a unit of Ohio National Financial Services Inc. of Cincinnati.

The product offers a hospice care benefit and a survivor benefit.

Purchasers who want to protect themselves against the risk of an especially severe disability can buy a catastrophic disability benefit rider.

Al Drowne is helping to manage the program for AMA Insurance, and Chuck Lanigan, a senior vice president for disability income strategic business, is overseeing Ohio National’s side of the program.

The product is not available in California, and the issuing company is not licensed to do business in New York state.
