The Society of Actuaries is now sponsoring Mortality.org, a research website that compiles mortality statistics from around the world.

R. David Hall, the managing director of research at the Schaumburg, Illinois-based group talks about the website in a new video on the group’s YouTube channel. (See below.)
The site offers death data from 38 countries around the world.
The U.S. data on the site goes back to 1933.
Other countries have been keeping mortality data in a standard format for much longer. Sweden, for example, has mortality data going back to 1751.
Belgium has data going back to 1841, but it has a gap in the data for the period from 1914 through 1918 because of World War I.
