Managers of hope to register about 100,000 agents and brokers for 2017.

The managers estimate they will move to terminate producer registrations because of allegations of fraud or abuse about 45 times per year.

The managers also expect to receive about 750 messages per year from producers who want to comment on the annual agent and broker training.

Officials at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, the agency that oversees the Affordable Care Act exchange enrollment and account administration system, have included those figures in a new Paperwork Review Act analysis.

The act requires CMS to analyze how proposed information collection efforts might affect the people and organizations providing the information.

In the past, paperwork impact analyses have provided some of the only official information available about the size of ACA programs.

When CMS creates the analyses, it also provides information about how much it thinks certain types of people earn. In the new analysis, for example, it assumes that the agents and brokers responding to the registration termination notices earn an average of $40.98 per hour.
