Genex Services, which is based in Wayne, Pennsylvania, bought Seattle-based Objective Medical Assessments Corp., Genex says.

The companies are not saying how much Genex paid.

Genex helps assess claimants and manage care for fully insured disability plans, self-insured disability plans and workers’ compensation insurers.

Objective Medical provides independent assessments of claimants’ health and ability to function.

Objective Medical was founded by Richard Nelson, a former Washington state Medicaid director. Nelson and his son, Steffen Nelson, will continue to run Objective Management, and Steffen Nelson will become part of the Genex management team, Genex says.

Genex says the deal will help it expand its ability to service customers in the Pacific Northwest.

Objective Medical used Foghorn Capital, a San Francisco-based private equity firm, to help make the deal.
