AlphaSimplex Group announced on Friday that it has hired former State Street Global Advisors Chief Investment Officer Alistair Lowe as senior advisor to the firm’s investment committee.
AlphaSimplex Group was founded by MIT finance professor Andrew Lo and is an affiliate of Natixis Global Asset Management with over $7 billion in institutional and mutual fund assets under management.
After leaving SSGA, Lowe served as a consultant to investment advisory and financial technology firms. As senior advisor to AlphaSimplex, he will manage the research process. Other investment committee members include Lo, Chief Investment Officer Xiru Zhang and Director of Strategic Research Alex Healy.
“Alistair brings broad and deep experience with asset allocation and quantitative strategies to help support and build upon AlphaSimplex’s successful growth,” Duncan Wilkinson, CEO of AlphaSimplex, said in a statement.
