The case for dental discount plans [Infographic]

Everyone should have great, fully insured dental insurance, but, of course, everyone doesn’t.

Some people who don’t get group dental coverage from an employer can’t afford the modest premium for individual or family coverage, and some people who could afford the premium need so much dental work that they would quickly reach an individual policy benefits limit.

They might get about as much value from having access to a dental network with good credentials verification procedures and tough network discount negotiators than from an insurance benefit.

DentalPlans.com Inc., which does business as :DentalPlans, is one of the companies aiming for that discount plan market sweet spot. The company recently created an infographic to promote its website.

The infographic features some of the same information that a dental insurance infographic might use, such as information on the percentage of people in different income groups who have dental insurance and the average cost of common dental procedures. The infographic also features a more distinctive section, which emphasizes the relatively small size of the typical insured dental plan annual benefits limit.
