This week in personnel announcements and new hires, Pensionmark Retirement Services welcomed a new office in Pennsylvania, Andrea Coleman joined 361 Capital, and New York Life added Aaron Ball.

Also, Paget Alves was elected to Ariel Investments’ board, Joseph DeNoyior was named president of NAPA, and DCREC named John Ehli co-president and Jennifer Perkins co-treasurer.

DeNoyior Named President of NAPA

The National Association of Plan Advisors has announced that Joseph DeNoyior was named president of the organization for 2015–2016.

DeNoyior is the managing partner at Washington Financial Group and the partner in charge of its retirement plan group. He is a founding lecturer at the Retirement Advisor University (TRAU) at UCLA and a member of the LPL-affiliated Global Retirement Partners.

DCREC Names Ehli, Perkins

The Defined Contribution Real Estate Council (DCREC) has named John Ehli co-president and Jennifer Perkins co-treasurer of the organization.

Ehli is a portfolio manager for Deutsche Bank’s RREEF Real Estate core commingled fund RREEF America REIT II. He replaces David Skinner, whose term expired, as co-president.

Perkins, a portfolio manager for the Principal U.S. Property Account at Principal Real Estate Investors, replaces Benjamin Adams, whose term has also expired, as co-treasurer.

Pensionmark Adds Pennsylvania Affiliation

Pensionmark Retirement Services has announced that Booker Moore, president and CEO, and Tom Muldoon, director, retirement services, both of L.R. Webber Associates in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, have joined the Pensionmark Retirement Group.

Moore has over 30 years of experience in the retirement plan and financial industry. Muldoon specializes in client relations and communications.

Coleman Joins 361 Capital

361 Capital has announced that Andrea Coleman has joined as regional investment specialist, responsible for leading RIA management in the northeastern U.S.

Coleman joins from Janus Capital Group. A former financial advisor, she has more than eight years of experience in financial services.

New York Life Welcomes Ball, Honors Adkins as Top Advisor

New York Life has announced that Aaron Ball has joined as vice president and leader of its long-term care insurance business based in Austin, Texas. He reports to Craig DeSanto, senior vice president of life insurance and long-term care.

Ball joins from Genworth, where he spent 12 years, most recently as the head of product and inforce for their long-term care business. Prior to that, he was senior VP and general counsel, insurance products. Before Genworth, he held senior legal and compliance roles at AmSouth Investment Services and M&T Brokerage.

Meanwhile, the firm named Jim Adkins as its 2014 council president, a once-in-a-career honor bestowed annually on the company’s leading financial advisor.  He has been council vice president, the company’s No. 2 advisor, in two previous years and has ranked among New York Life’s top 50 advisors for nine of his 19 years in this business.

Adkins is a registered representative and financial advisor with a team of more than 25 professionals at the firm he founded, Strategic Financial Associates LLC. 

Alves Joins Ariel Investments’ Board

Ariel Investments has announced that Paget Alves has been elected to its board of directors.

Alves spent 14 years at Sprint Communications, Inc., where he held several senior executive positions. Prior to Sprint, he served as president and CEO of PointOne Telecommunications, as well as president and chief operating officer of Centennial Communications.
