The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) says an update of a major exchange agent and broker registration program may affect 172,525 people.
CMS, an arm of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), gave that exchange producer count in a routine information collection review filing.
CMS runs the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) exchanges that use the HHS HealthCare.gov exchange enrollment system. The information collection review producer count includes only the producers who work with HealthCare.gov, not producers who work only with state-based exchanges.
