Schnurr Named Chief Accountant at SEC
The SEC has announced that James Schnurr has been named chief accountant, effective this October. He will replace Paul Beswick, who joined the SEC staff in September 2007 and has served as its chief accountant since 2012.
Schnurr recently retired from Deloitte LLP, where he was vice chairman and senior professional practice director and specialized in financial and SEC reporting for public companies. He began his career at Deloitte in 1975 and became a partner in 1985. He was a senior partner for mergers and acquisition services from 1994 to 2002 and a deputy managing partner of the firm’s professional practice from 2002 to 2009.
Snowden Lane Partners Welcomes Bowman
Wealth advisory firm Snowden Lane Partners has announced that Robert Bowman has joined as partner and managing director.
Bowman, who spent 31 years at Merrill Lynch, was most recently managing director for Merrill in Philadelphia. He started there as a financial advisor and moved into management, where he subsequently served in a number of positions, including regional director of the mid-Atlantic region and national sales manager.
Wilkinson, Scheinert Join U.S. Bank’s Private Client Reserve
U.S. Bank has announced that Christopher Wilkinson has been named vice president, wealth management consultant for the Private Client Reserve in Phoenix and Dean Scheinert has been named wealth management consultant for the Private Client Reserve in Phoenix.
Wilkinson has a background in finance with 30 years of experience in investment management, private banking, risk mitigation, estate planning and administration for high-net-worth families, business owners and private foundations. Prior to joining, he was executive vice president and chief investment officer for Finemark National Bank & Trust in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Scheinert joins from J.P. Morgan Private Bank in Scottsdale, Arizona, where he served as executive director responsible for client development and relationship management for ultra-high net worth clients.
Wolters Kluwer Legal & Regulatory Solutions Names Samos
Wolters Kluwer Legal & Regulatory Solutions announced that it has named Gregory Samos president and CEO of Wolters Kluwer Law & Business, effective Sept. 8. He succeeds Robert Lemmond in the post.
Samos joins from Kaplan Test Prep and Admissions, where he was president of health programs. He also held senior executive positions in professional publishing at Reed Elsevier, including president of the medical education and communications division Excerpta Media, and senior vice president of strategy and development for Elsevier Health Sciences.
