The MNsure board has named Scott Leitz as chief executive officer of the state's public exchange.
Leitz has been the acting CEO since Dec. 17.
Leitz, formerly an official at the state Department of Human Services, took over for April Todd-Malmlov, who resigned.
When Todd-Malmlov resigned, the exchange had enrolled only 71,579 in any kind of coverage.
The exchange call center met service goals only about 10 percent to 20 percent of the time, and about half of the consumers who called abandoned their calls.
By April 27, the exchange had helped 203,633 people enroll. The total included 50,431 people who'd used the exchange to sign up for private plan coverage.
