This week in personnel announcements and new hires, Tonnie Wybensinger went to the Financial Services Roundtable, Mercer Investments welcomed four, David Levenson was named board chairman of the LIMRA LOMA Secure Retirement Institute, and AssetMark welcomed Cathy Clauson.
Also, Brandon Saliba and Rocky Irinaga joined the Private Client Reserve of U.S. Bank, Denis Parisien went to Schroders, and the Phoenix Cos. welcomed Diana Piquette.
Mercer Welcomes Four
Mercer Investments announced that it has hired four professionals. Jean-Daniel Cté has rejoined Mercer’s Canadian consulting team with a primary focus on DC consulting relationships. Rich Dabrowski has rejoined Mercer and will focus on corporate DB and DC consulting. Peter Grant will work primarily with corporate DB and DC plans and hospital investment pools including foundation, operating and self-insurance assets. Mike Paolucci will be responsible for corporate DB and DC relationships as well as advising health care clients.
Cté has more than 25 years of experience in pension consulting, DC administration, retirement planning and investments. He was with Mercer from 2008 to 2012, and was most recently with ACT Actuaries in Montreal until returning. Prior to his earlier experience at the firm, he held several executive positions in financial services organizations in Canada and France, including as a partner at Morneau Sobeco and as president of Performa Financial Group, part of Standard Life.
Dabrowski has 26 years of consulting and investment management experience. He began his career at Mercer Investment Consulting and held a number of senior leadership roles including midwest practice head and director of manager research. Prior to rejoining the firm, he was with Strategic Investment Solutions SIS, responsible for client development, investment policy and global manager research.
Grant has more than 20 years of experience in investment consulting, first with Aon Hewitt in the 1990s and most recently at Towers Watson.
Paolucci has more than 15 years of experience in investment consulting, most recently as a client relationship manager at Segal Rogerscasey, where he advised corporate pension plan sponsors and endowments and foundations. Previously he was with R.V. Kuhns & Associates.
Wybensinger Joins Financial Services Roundtable
The Financial Services Roundtable announced that Tonnie Wybensinger is joining as its new vice president of government affairs for investment management. In this role, she will focus heavily on guiding the policy and regulatory efforts for FSR’s investment management portfolio.
Wybensinger most recently worked as the staff director for the Senate Banking Subcommittee on Financial Institutions and Consumer Protection under ranking member Senator Pat Toomey, R-Pa. She previously served as chief of staff to House Financial Services Reps. Blaine Luetkemeyer, R-Mo., Bill Posey, R-Fla., and Tom Feeney, R-Fla.), as well as legislative director to then-Rep. Pat Toomey, R-Pa. She also served as the director of financial policy at the Investment Company Institute.
Levenson Named Board Chair at LIMRA LOMA Secure Retirement Institute
The LIMRA LOMA Secure Retirement Institute has announced that its board has unanimously elected David Levenson to be the first chairman and Kent Callahan to be vice chairman. Callahan will succeed Levenson in 2015 as chair.
Levenson is a principal at Edward Jones, which he joined in 2012. Prior to that, he was president of the wealth management division for The Hartford.
