Don’t get distracted from your goals

It doesn't matter what other people get away with that you can't seem to let slide by. It doesn't matter what you think is fair or how often things seem to be unlucky for you. It doesn't matter how many more times you have to try than those around you.

It doesn't matter how other people got rich, built a following or became successful. It doesn't matter what other people think of your ideas, plans or goals.

It doesn't matter that you seem to have fewer answers than everyone else you know. It doesn't matter that they don't think you can do what you say you're going to do.

It doesn't matter that you've already tried and failed to be successful in the past. It doesn't matter what experts say about what you should be doing.

It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter one bit at all. There will always be excuses and reasons to whine.

There will always be people who are luckier than you, smarter than you, richer than you, better looking than you and seemingly more "problem-free" than you are.

No matter what you achieve, there will always be someone or something to distract you. Someone who, when you start comparing yourself to him, will cause you to stop focusing on what you need to be doing and start wallowing in wasteful self-pity. And this is why you need to stop worrying about what doesn't matter.

You just have to work hard every day. You have to purposefully stop listening to get-rich-quick advice you think is going to magically change things for you.

There is no secret formula to allow you to bypass the blood, sweat and tears you need to put in to achieve the results you want. No webinar, online coaching program or 7-step success plan will propel you past most of the obstacles standing between you and the goals you want to achieve.

So instead of whining, whimpering or "why-ing" your way through the day, put your head down and get to work. Do what you think is important. Have a mission. Live with purpose.

Pay it forward. Be less selfish. Have a plan for realizing your most outrageous dreams.

It doesn't really matter what anyone else thinks about you now—or what they will think about you when you end up successful down the road. The only thing that matters is doing what matters.
