People for whom money is no object—billionaires—spare no expense in indulging their appetite for luxury assets.

Wealth-X has compiled a list of the 10 all-time most expensive luxury asset acquisitions. The top choice of the majority of these ultra-rich folks will come as no surprise. A couple may do so. Following are the acquirers, their luxury assets and their estimated net worth, according to Wealth-X.

Alisher Usmanov

10. Alisher Usmanov, Uzbek-born Russian business magnate

Luxury asset: Yacht—Dilbar. The 361-foot steel yacht with aluminum superstructure was built by Lürssen Yachts and launched in 2008. She accommodates 20 passengers and 47 crew. The design is by Tim Heywood with interior done by Alberto Pinto. (Source: Superyachtfan)

Abdulla Al Futtaim

8. Abdulla Al Futtaim serves as the chairman of Emirates Investment Bank P.J.S.C. and Al Futtaim Hc Securities Company, as chairman of Al-Futtaim Sons Co and as vice chairman of Al-Futtaim Private Company LLC. He also serves as vice chairman at Arab Orient Insurance Company PSC and as a director at Commercial Bank of Dubai PSC.

Luxury asset: Yacht—Radiant. The 361-foot yacht was launched by Lürssen Yachts in early 2009.

6. David Geffen, American business magnate, producer, film studio executive and philanthropist

Luxury asset: Yacht—Pelorus. The original owner of Pelorus was a Saudi businessman who already owned a 236-foot motor yacht that he wanted to extend. Designer Tim Heywood was commissioned to investigate this possibility, but could not find a really satisfactory result and instead proposed a new yacht of 279 feet. (Source: Boat International)

5. Andrey Melnichenko founded MDM Bank in 1993. With fellow billionaire Sergei Popov, he began buying up assets in 2000, creating TMK, Russia’s largest pipe exporter, as well as fertilizer maker Eurochem and coal producer SUEK. Luxury asset: Yacht—Eclipse. Eclipse is a luxury motor yacht constructed by Blohm + Voss of Hamburg. Her exterior and interior were designed by Terence Disdale Design and its naval architect was Francis Design. At 536 feet long, Eclipse is the world’s second largest private yacht. 1. Khalifa bin Sultan Zayed Al Nahyan, president of the UAE and ruler of Abu Dhabi
