Obesity, not old people, is making healthcare expensive

Yes, the older we get, the more we spend on health care, but not as much compared to the wider we get, according to a study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association. The authors found health care for those under the age of 65 comprised 85 percent of money spent on medical care. Hyperlipidemia, which is high cholesterol and triglycerides, was the biggest-spending disease with the fastest annual growth rate of 14.4 percent between 2000 and 2010.
