The math might be difficult, but looking at a chart from the Tax Foundation makes it pretty clear: Those with incomes up to $17,000 get back an equivalent $8.13 in federal spending for every dollar they spend, those with incomes of $120,000 or more get back an equivalent 25 cents for every tax dollar they spend.
