Shirley Keegan and her disabled son live on the Social Security payments that she receives, after paying into the system for more than 40 years, supplementing what it does not cover with her meager savings. Jacob Lew, Secretary of the Treasury said that the program could be on the chopping block if Congress does not get its act together and raise the debt ceiling. What will happen to the Shirley Keegan’s of the country?
