NEW YORK (AP) — Aetna Inc. (NYSE:AET) has hired Dijuana Lewis of Wal-Mart to lead its consumer products and enterprise division.

Lewis had been in charge of health care solutions for Wal-Mart Stores Inc.

WellPoint Inc. (NYSE:WLP) fired Lewis without cause in October 2010. She was in charge of the insurer’s comprehensive health solutions business unit, which includes provider relations, and care and disease management.

Lewis worked at WellPoint for 16 years.

In her new job, Aetna said Lewis will report directly to Aetna Chairman Mark Bertolini. She will be a member of the company’s executive committee.

Aetna shares rose 6 cents to $65.56 in afternoon trading. They are near the high end of their 52-week range of $40.32 to $69.19.
