U.S. says more doctors accept Medicare patients, access 'excellent'

The number of doctors leaving the Medicare program has been a concern for many, to put it lightly, but do the numbers hold up? According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the percentage of all office-based physicians accepting Medicare hasn’t changed much between 2005 and 2012. Furthermore, the percentage of physicians accepting new Medicare patients is up from 705,568 to 735,041.
