Doctors say wait longer before treating kids’ sinus infections

New guidelines published in a recent issue of Pediatrics encourage parents to wait a few days for their child to get better on their own from a sinus infection before seeking out a doctor and antibiotics. In an effort to prevent the overuse of antibiotics and therefore the fostering of resistance, doctors agree that waiting a few extra days to seek a medical professional is safe.
