Study: Infections make us more vulnerable to depression

If you have been hospitalized for an infection you are 62 percent more likely to develop a mood disorder, according to researchers from John Hopkins University and Aarhus and Copenhagen University. Why? Research indicates that a weakening of the blood/ brain barrier from the infection-caused inflammation is to blame.
