Guardian Insurance and Annuity Co. launched on Tuesday a new website to help plan participants in 401(k) plans learn more about planning for retirement.

The site, 401k.guardianlife.com, provides articles and tutorials on retirement planning, saving and retirement calculators, videos and infographics. Participants can search for relevant information by life stage or by the medium they want to use. The site is available on mobile devices, including the iPad.

“We know that Americans are habitually unprepared for retirement,” Jason Frain, vice president of 401(k) product management and development for Guardian Retirement Solutions, said in a statement. “The new website is part of Guardian’s ongoing commitment to educate and motivate people to start the planning process early and to begin saving for post-career living. As the go-to provider for the small-plan 401(k) market, Guardian continues to invest in new resources that help empower participants to plan, save and invest for retirement.”

The site also provides a true-or-false quiz to help participants identify their retirement style: whether they want to use a professional advisor or take a more hands-on approach to investing. The quiz asks questions about financial style, like “I still kick myself for poor past financial decisions,” as well as personal questions, like “I tend to be quiet around people I don’t know well.” Based on their responses, participants are assigned profiles like the Adventurer, Seeker or Analyst, with steps to take next to improve their financial situation.
