Hartford (NYSE:HIG) says expanding sales of voluntary disability insurance and other voluntary benefits is a “key growth strategy” for the company.
The company is working with Selerix Systems to set up an electronic system that groups with 50 or more employees can use to enroll employees in non-Hartford benefits along with Hartford benefits.
Hartford service teams will still handle medical underwriting.
Hartford also has added regional sales executives to support brokers and employers, and it has named national practice leads to provide case-level consulting for complex cases.
The company also is making a new disability benefits customization program available to employers with more than 1,000 employees. The company began offering the benefits customization feature to employers with 50 to 999 employees in January. The feature lets employees to choose the amount, timing and duration of disability benefits streams
